Testimonials
This note is to outline the outstanding level of quality and timely performance provided by Litho Service which we qualify as a true partner when it comes to bring to their customers a level of quality of work and depth of understanding unparalleled in the industry.
More specifically I am referring to two specific projects which they have met and surpassed our expectation.
- The first one was a project on a double wide, double round high speed Lithoman press build by Manroland vintage 2000.
The scope of the project was to incorporate 4 additional units of Lithoman press to an existing Lithoman press of the same vintage acquired at a later date as a used press. The challenges although both mechanical and electrical were very significant.
A major modification of the superstructure was required in order to meet our needs and produce multi ribbons configurations on an ongoing basis as part of printing retail flyers. The mechanical engineers from Litho Service came to us with some very unique and creative ways to provide us what we need with a limited amount of downtime required to perform the installation while we kept the original press operating.
The second part was much more difficult to achieve as it implied to take out a complete drive and control system which was out of date ( Siemens System 5 ) and replacing it by a brand new ( Siemens System 7 ) including writing a new press operating software to accommodate operating in duplex mode without losing any functionality and keeping the equipment to the upmost operating efficiency and safety standards the industry had to offer.
Again, Litho Service rose to the occasion and delivered the project on time and on budget meeting all of our expectations.
- The second project was to take out a 23 years old Lithoman single width printing press which was still printing in excellent quality and reconfigure it mechanically to operate as two single 4 units press and the opportunity to operate in duplex mode.
The press mechanically needed a selected rebuild program which was performed to our satisfaction.
The most important part of the project was the original electrical system was so outdated that we could no longer get spare parts for normal ongoing repairs. Therefore, we asked our partner Litho Service to give us a proposal as to what they thought they could offer us so we could continue to operate the press for another 10 to 12 years.
Their solution was to completely cut out the electrical system and start from scratch. The outcome was a complete integration of a Siemens system 7 including Profibus with shaftless technology to allow us to integrate automation as close loop color and other components which gave us the opportunity to re install a press which has an excellent reputation for its quality of print and combine new technology automation so we can truly operate this press for easily another 12 years.
We have no hesitation to recommend the engineering, rebuilding and installation from Litho Service to anyone in the industry.
